Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Rod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Wibowo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Wibowo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Rod! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Wibowo! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wibowo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wibowo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Wibowo darts in looking for a takedown but Rod gets double underhooks and turns Wibowo into the cage. Rod is pressed up against the cage. Wibowo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rod down to the mat. Rod avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rob Rod has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Wibowo. Wibowo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rod as he jumps to the side. Wibowo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rod counters by clinching up. Wibowo looking to slow down the pace here. Wibowo gets control of Rod's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wibowo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Rod throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wibowo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wibowo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Rod definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Wibowo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wibowo holds on and takes a little breather. Rod postures up and lands a big shot to Wibowo's brow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rod loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rod with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rod postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wibowo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rod's guard. Wibowo passes Rod's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wibowo prevents Rod from standing back up.
Wibowo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wibowo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rod has managed to free his arm - good work. Wibowo trying to mount his opponent but Rod defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wibowo is controlling the pace.
Wibowo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rod's head. Rod wants to get back to his feet.
Wibowo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rod is just riding it out for now. Wibowo eventually gives up the hold. Wibowo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wibowo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rod on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Wibowo prevents Rod from standing back up.
Wibowo trying to control the action but Rod is working from the bottom. Wibowo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wibowo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rod wants to get back to his feet.
Wibowo is trying to control the action in half guard but Rod is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Wibowo trying to control the pace. Wibowo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rod! Rod knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wibowo on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wibowo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rod can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wibowo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rod's face.
Rod is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wibowo unloading with bombs! Wibowo working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rod turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Wibowo off and cradles Rod's limp body as Wibowo celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Kevin Wibowo!
