Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Nuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Troy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Troy!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Troy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Troy fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Troy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nuke but Nuke pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Nuke counters with a single leg into guard. Troy didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nuke works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nuke wants to pass the guard but Troy is defending well.
Nuke content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Nuke with the ground and pound but Troy uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Troy wants to improve his position but instead Nuke has moved into half guard.

Nuke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jared Nuke.

Nuke throws a head kick but Troy moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Troy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jared Nuke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Troy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nuke controls the pace.
Troy wants to sweep here but Nuke controlling him for the moment.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Troy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nuke thows a huge punch but Troy dodges it nicely.
Nuke is looking to advance position but Troy won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Nuke seems content to control.

Nuke is working for a submission of some sort.

Troy is defending against the submission attempts here by Nuke.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nuke in particular looking to stall.
Troy tries to get to full guard but Nuke has control of the leg.
Nuke is nestled in close to Troy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Troy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Nuke is taking a breather. Troy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nuke has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Nuke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Troy defends it well.
Nuke thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Nuke passes to side control.
A lull in the action here as Nuke stalls from top position.
Troy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nuke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jared Nuke dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Nuke moves out of range of the strikes.
Nuke walks forward, straight into a front kick from Troy.
Troy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Troy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nuke.
Troy throws a half hearted mid kick.

Troy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nuke to the ground. Troy is now in Nuke's guard.

Troy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nuke swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Jared Nuke wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Troy.
Troy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nuke sprawls well. Nuke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Troy gets slowly back to his feet.

Troy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Troy throws a sloppy head kick and Nuke moves out of range easily.

Nuke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Troy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jared Nuke wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Nuke will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nuke not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Nuke makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nuke, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
