Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ogustivimus Amavimus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy James!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James moves in looking to clinch but Amavimus pushes him off.

James shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amavimus's guard.
Amavimus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him.
Amavimus is trying to control the position but James postures up.
Amavimus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Amavimus is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Amavimus seems keen to control James's posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ogustivimus Amavimus wasn't doing enough on the ground.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
Amavimus tries a body shot but James blocks it.
Amavimus throws a punch but it's blocked by James.
James connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Ogustivimus Amavimus has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Amavimus lands a right hand that snaps the head of James backwards.
Amavimus tries a body shot but James blocks it.
James scores with a nice hook to the head.
Amavimus blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that James has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

I was talking to Amavimus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

James throws an overhand right that lands on Amavimus's shoulder, as Amavimus tries to avoid the shot.

This has been an exciting period of action!
James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amavimus is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Amavimus circles away and we're back to standing.

Amavimus struggles to land a body shot inside as James controls his hands.

Amavimus is pushing James up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
James goes for a takedown in the clinch but Amavimus prevents it.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Amavimus lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
James tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Amavimus avoids it.

Amavimus lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
James struggles to land a body shot inside as Amavimus controls his hands.
Amavimus wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but James has him pressed against the cage.
Amavimus is pressed up against the cage. James has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Amavimus down to the mat. Amavimus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ogustivimus Amavimus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Amavimus lands an overhand right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

James comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Amavimus tries to throw a body punch but James avoids it by throwing Amavimus back against the cage.

Still in the clinch, Amavimus scores with a nice short uppercut.
James goes for a takedown attempt but Amavimus pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ogustivimus Amavimus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy James.
James is breathing heavily.
Amavimus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
James shoots in for a double leg but Amavimus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Amavimus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Amavimus on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
James prevents a body shot from Amavimus.

Amavimus tries to stall but James uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

James is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Amavimus pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Ogustivimus Amavimus has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Amavimus is looking to control James's arms but James gets an underhook and turns him. Now Amavimus has his back to the cage.

James lands a good knee to the midsection. Amavimus won't want to take too many of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James thows a body shot but no joy.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Amavimus but Amavimus pushes him off and we're back to square one.
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Amavimus swivels and escapes.
James shoots for a double leg takedown but Amavimus sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
James shoots in looking for a takedown but Amavimus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Amavimus lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Amavimus takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Amavimus misses with a looping left.
No luck for James with that takedown attempt.
Amavimus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Amavimus slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Amavimus circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! James drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Amavimus follows James to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ogustivimus Amavimus!
After winning the bout, Ogustivimus Amavimus thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
