Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yang Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piston Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Japanese National Anthem. Yang Lee could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Piston Honda's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a head kick that half lands.
Lee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Honda misses with a low kick.
Honda stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lee.
A cross from Lee lands.

and Lee counters with an outside leg kick.
Honda shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Honda working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Honda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Honda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lee as he avoids it easily.
Lee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Honda tries to keep at a distance but Lee has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lee has Honda pressed against the cage, preventing Honda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lee tries to bum rush Honda with a series of wild strikes but Honda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Honda throws a low kick but Lee avoids it.
Lee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Honda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Some bone on bone action there as Lee checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Lee counters by moving into the clinch.
Honda wants to take the fight to the mat but Lee manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Lee stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Honda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yang Lee.
I think Lee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
