Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jasper Mclaughlin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beta Bagwell! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bagwell tries to clinch there but Mclaughlin circles away.
Beta Bagwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mclaughlin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mclaughlin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mclaughlin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mclaughlin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bagwell is looking to improve his position.
Mclaughlin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bagwell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mclaughlin. Mclaughlin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mclaughlin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mclaughlin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bagwell defends it well. Mclaughlin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bagwell trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Mclaughlin manages to pass to mount!
Mclaughlin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bagwell manages to avoid the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mclaughlin moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Mclaughlin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bagwell is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mclaughlin lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bagwell down.
Mclaughlin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bagwell has escaped the position, nice work there. Mclaughlin working the ground and pound from side control. Mclaughlin scores with punches from side control. Mclaughlin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mclaughlin in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mclaughlin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bagwell to see if he's OK. Bagwell looks winded! Bagwell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mclaughlin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bagwell takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Mclaughlin cracks Bagwell with an elbow. That is naaassty. Mclaughlin landing a few strikes. Bagwell takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mclaughlin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mclaughlin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mclaughlin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bagwell, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jasper Mclaughlin dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mclaughlin looking to score a takedown here. Bagwell is defending well but Mclaughlin drives through and ends up in Bagwell's guard. Bagwell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mclaughlin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mclaughlin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mclaughlin distracts Bagwell with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Bagwell wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mclaughlin is now in half guard. Mclaughlin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mclaughlin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bagwell is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mclaughlin scoring with strikes to the body and head. Mclaughlin working the head and body with strikes. Bagwell is trying to get back to full guard. Mclaughlin is controlling the pace.
Jasper Mclaughlin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mclaughlin slips a nice elbow through Bagwell's hands, connecting with Bagwell's forehead. Mclaughlin looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ground and pound from Mclaughlin. Mclaughlin working the head and body with strikes. Mclaughlin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Mclaughlin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bagwell sees it coming and defends easily. Mclaughlin seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bagwell is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
