Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Teuvo Majakivi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Peace! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peace throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Peace shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Majakivi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Peace with a flurry of punches that miss. Peace lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Peace wants to control from the top but Majakivi keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peace throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Majakivi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. He's simply no match for Peace on the ground. Peace looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Majakivi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Peace throwing shots but Majakivi is blocking nicely. Peace is keen to just control but Majakivi is a slippery customer. Peace swings around for an armbar but Majakivi sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Peace's guard. Peace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Majakivi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Peace looking for a sweep. Not yet Peace, not yet. Peace looking for a guillotine here but Majakivi defends easily.
