Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leo Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Peri Jr! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown stuffs the takedown attempt from Peri Jr. Peri Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Brown throws a left and a right that both miss
and Peri Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brown slaps away a takedown attempt from Peri Jr, before circling back to the center of the mat. Peri Jr fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Leo Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Peri Jr. Peri Jr tries to clinch but Brown is having none of it. Brown checks a leg kick. Peri Jr fails with a takedown attempt. Peri Jr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Peri Jr throws a low kick, looking for Brown's leg but Brown calmly moves out of range. Peri Jr shoots and misses and Brown counters with a single leg into guard. Peri Jr didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peri Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peri Jr trying to keep a closed guard but Brown is proving a slippery customer.
Brown thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Brown drops back looking for a leg! Peri Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peri Jr manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Peri Jr's guard. Peri Jr wants to control but Brown passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Brown wants to pass the guard but Peri Jr is defending well. Brown seems to be looking for submissions.
Peri Jr looking for submissions off his back. Peri Jr trying to control but Brown postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Brown seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Peri Jr is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
