Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steveo Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Steveo Perkins has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steveo Perkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorge Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa needs to keep his hands up - Perkins had a free shot at his head there.
Perkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sosa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perkins but Perkins pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perkins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sosa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perkins keeps working.
Sosa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Perkins haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Perkins is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sosa has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Weed Nation. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Sosa keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jorge Sosa was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Perkins clinches up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perkins lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sosa backwards.
Perkins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sosa tries to pull guard but Perkins forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Perkins lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Perkins lands a body shot.
Perkins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Sosa blocks an elbow strike from Perkins.
Sosa's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Sosa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perkins walks away with a smile on his face. Sosa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Steveo Perkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Sosa.
Perkins scores with a hook.
Sosa walks into a stiff left hand from Perkins.
Perkins's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sosa under the eye.
Perkins lands with a straight right. Sosa didn't see that one coming.
Perkins sizes up Sosa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Perkins moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sosa goes for a takedown attempt but Perkins pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sosa tries to clinch there but Perkins circles away.
Perkins tests Sosa's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A punch combination from Perkins misses.
Perkins connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sosa momentarily.
Sosa takes one to the chin there.
Nice sprawl there from Perkins as Sosa shoots in.
Perkins lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Perkins lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Perkins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sosa trying to control but Perkins postures up.
Sosa works his way to full guard. Good work.

Sosa pushes a forearm under Perkins's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Perkins is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jorge Sosa!
