Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack The Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axe has chosen For Whom the Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack The Ripper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Axe! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Axe tries to bum rush The Ripper with a series of wild strikes but The Ripper uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Axe lands with a good body shot. Axe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A telegraphed right hand from Axe misses the target. The Ripper gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Axe. Axe goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. The Ripper tries to bum rush Axe with a series of wild strikes but Axe uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Axe jabs The Ripper right on the nose. The Ripper blinks but takes it well. The Ripper throws a series of punches but Axe avoids them all with ease. The Ripper swinging wildly here.

Axe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from The Ripper. The Ripper fails to land with a series of punches.
Axe lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

enabling Axe to counter with a crisp jab. Axe throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The Ripper jabbing away but nothing is landing. Axe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from The Ripper.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Axe throws a jab but it's blocked by The Ripper. The Ripper throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Axe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sloppy strikes from Axe. Those never looked like landing. Axe scores with a sloppy right hand. The Ripper should have avoided that one. Axe moves into range and connects with a jab. Nice takedown defense from Axe. No joy for The Ripper on that attempt. Axe slaps away a takedown attempt from The Ripper, before circling back to the center of the mat. The Ripper misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Axe lands a two punch combo.
Axe leaves The Ripper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack The Ripper. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Ripper misses with a two punch combination.

The Ripper takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Ripper looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The Ripper looks to land a left hand but Axe moved out of range nicely. Axe lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. The Ripper misses with the combination.
Blake Axe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Axe stuffs the takedown attempt from The Ripper. The Ripper gets slowly back to his feet. Axe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps The Ripper's head backwards. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The Ripper shoots in looking for a takedown. Axe tries to sprawl out of it but The Ripper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Axe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blake Axe dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
The Ripper takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The Ripper takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Axe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Axe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. The Ripper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Axe's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The Ripper pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Axe is keeping the position for now. Axe wants to stand but The Ripper is controlling the position. The Ripper's corner is telling him to maintain position. The Ripper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The Ripper pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack The Ripper just wasn't active enough. Axe gets caught flat footed, as The Ripper shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Axe controlling The Ripper's posture. The Ripper throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Axe works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The Ripper trying to control the position from guard on top but Axe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The Ripper trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Axe keeping moving, preventing The Ripper from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Axe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst The Ripper is controlling him. The Ripper tries to free his leg and advance position but Axe is retaining full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Axe uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The Ripper. A head kick misses from Axe. The Ripper missing with a left hand there. Axe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. The Ripper misses with a double jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Ripper throws a right and a left that Axe avoids nicely. Axe dips to his left and cracks The Ripper with an uppercut! Axe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed The Ripper momentarily.
Axe is looking to slow The Ripper down with leg kicks. The Ripper throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Axe throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Axe gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The Ripper takes a shot to the body in his stride.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack The Ripper dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Axe counters with a stiff right hand. Axe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Axe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Axe scores with a punch to the head. Axe throws a right and a left that The Ripper avoids nicely. The Ripper misses with a combination
and Axe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jack The Ripper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The Ripper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Axe's waist but Axe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Ripper off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Ripper tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Axe defends well and The Ripper ends up having to push Axe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Axe throws a blind hook that connects with the side of The Rippers head. A hook to the body from Axe.
Axe is struggling to control the position. Knees in the clinch landing for Axe.
The Ripper tries for a takedown but Axe manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack The Ripper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The Ripper takes a knee to the side of the body. Axe is pushing The Ripper up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. The Ripper has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Axe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The Ripper is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Axe pulls him back up using the underhooks. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Axe obliges. The Ripper can't get the takedown.
The Ripper drops down looking for an ankle pick but Axe pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! The Ripper misses with a few strikes there.
Jab by Axe. Axe darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. The Ripper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. The Ripper throws a right hand that Axe ducks under and follows up with a left that Axe also avoids with ease. The Ripper misses with a wild combination.
The Ripper looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Ripper shoots in for a takedown but Axe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Axe lands with an overhand left. No joy there for The Ripper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Axe works the jab nicely. The Ripper on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Axe moves into range and connects with a jab. Axe bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Axe lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Axe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. The Ripper throws a left and a right that both miss
and Axe counters with a right hand to the body. The Ripper throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The fighters circle momentarily. Axe darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. The Ripper misses with an uppercut
and The Ripper takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Axe stuns The Ripper with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Axe avoids a punch combination nicely.

And that's the end of the fight! Blake Axe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Axe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
