Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nich DiM! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rcrs Sarabjit! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DiM plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Rcrs Sarabjit has been cut. Sarabjit tries for a takedown but DiM sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. DiM tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sarabjit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but DiM circles away quickly and effectively. DiM looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. DiM throws a quick inside leg kick. Sarabjit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but DiM circles away quickly and effectively. Sarabjit takes a head kick and keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! DiM waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sarabjit. DiM throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. DiM scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. DiM will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. DiM remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. DiM is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Sarabjit looks calm but he's in trouble here. DiM gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Sarabjit is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! DiM lets go of the hold and Sarabjit can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nich DiM! Nich DiM decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
