Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Royal Osborn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Perez! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Francis DeMontford and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Osborn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Perez to the mat! Perez manages to get full guard. Osborn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Osborn postures up.
Osborn wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Osborn really is a fat lump. Perez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Perez looking for a guillotine here but Osborn defends easily.
Perez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Osborn is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Perez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Perez has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Osborn has passed into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Check out the look on Osborn's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Osborn wants to stand but Perez is controlling his arm. Osborn wants to stand but Perez has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. Perez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Osborn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Perez is tightening it up a little... Osborn has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Osborn reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Osborn taps out! Nice BJJ there by Perez!
