The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez is looking to land body kicks.
Alvarez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alvarez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Matsuhita's half guard.
Alvarez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Matsuhita's head.
Alvarez prevents Matsuhita from improving his position.
Alvarez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Matsuhita does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Alvarez wants to stand up but Matsuhita has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Alvarez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Pedro Alvarez just wasn't active enough.
Jab, jab by Matsuhita - just one landing.
It looks like Pedro Alvarez has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Matsuhita throws a monster overhand right that drops Alvarez ! Matsuhita follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
