15 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, AnthonyH Moreno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronnie Putnam! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moreno closes the distance and clinches. Moreno using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Putnam has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Moreno misses with an elbow strike.
Moreno has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Putnam regains guard immediately. Putnam wants to sweep but no luck. Putnam wants to stand up but Moreno is controlling him. Putnam avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Putnam lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Putnam seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Putnam trying to control the position from guard on top but Moreno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Putnam pushes down on Moreno's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moreno. We've been hearing good reports from Moreno's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Putnam controlling from the full mount. Putnam looking to control but Moreno is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Putnam is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Moreno can't fight it off and eventually Putnam manages to take the fight to the floor. Moreno looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Moreno wants to sweep here but Putnam controlling him for the moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Putnam wants to control from the top but Moreno keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. It looks like Putnam might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ronnie Putnam hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Putnam misses with a wild body shot. Putnam shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Putnam was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Putnam tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Putnam is staying tight to Moreno's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Putnam is looking to take a break and control but Moreno is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Putnam controls the position from side control. Putnam's coach down at Jef Li's MMA(13 coaches, 49 cap) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Putnam's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Moreno working hard to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moreno gets through Putnam's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Putnam gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Moreno regains guard.
