Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vilis Valdis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vilis Valdis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Douglas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vilis Valdis! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valdis with a poor takedown and Douglas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Valdis's guard now. Douglas with a flurry of punches that miss. Valdis trying to control the position.
Valdis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Valdis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Douglas is controlling him. Valdis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Douglas. Douglas throws a big elbow that misses. Valdis wants to get back to his feet but Douglas is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Douglas postures up in Valdis's guard and throws a big left but Valdis blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valdis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Valdis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Douglas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Douglas is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Douglas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Douglas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valdis keeping moving, preventing Douglas from controlling successfully. Douglas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Douglas passes easily into side control. Nice work. Douglas grinds an elbow into Valdis's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Douglas connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Valdis some visible discomfort.
Douglas looks up at the clock and then as Valdis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Douglas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Valdis is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Valdis is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Douglas scoring with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Valdis on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Valdis is rocked! Douglas has hold of Valdis's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Valdis tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Douglas cranks the arm and Valdis screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Valdis, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jack Douglas! Jack Douglas seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. Vilis Valdis spoke after the fight, saying ',,,,,,,,,,'.
