Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Marceau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen Song of Ice and Fire Art Collection as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier Marceau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Martin! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin ducks under a wild hook from Marceau. Marceau throws a jab when Martin was well out of range. Martin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marceau sprawls well initially but Martin persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Martin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Marceau doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Martin. Marceau is trying to get back to full guard. Marceau moves into full guard.
Marceau trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Martin wants to control from the top but Marceau keeps moving. Martin throwing strikes but missing. Martin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
It looks like Xavier Marceau has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marceau is trying to control the position but Martin postures up. Martin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marceau might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Marceau looking to hit a scissor sweep but Martin is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Martin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Marceau is retaining full guard. Martin preventing the sweep.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Marceau scores with a nice right hand.
Marceau misses with a straight right. Marceau scores with a sloppy right hand. Martin should have avoided that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marceau looks to land a right hand but Martin moved out of range. Xavier Marceau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Marceau misses the target. Martin avoids the head kick by Marceau.

Marceau throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily. Martin dodges the punch combination from Marceau.
Martin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Marceau throws a right hand that Martin ducks under and follows up with a left that Martin also avoids with ease. Marceau jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jab, jab by Marceau - just one landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marceau goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Marceau walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Marceau is breathing heavily. Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marceau but Marceau pushes him off and we're back to square one. Martin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Marceau misses with a hook. Martin ducked under it nicely. Marceau missing with a left hand there. Martin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Marceau pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Xavier Marceau is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Martin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A short right from Martin on the inside. Martin pushes Marceau back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Marceau backwards. Marceau tries to stall but Martin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Xavier Marceau's cut is getting worse. Marceau is pressed up against the cage. Martin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Marceau down to the mat. Marceau avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Marceau tries to move into range but Martin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Martin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Xavier Marceau's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Martin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Martin takes the fight into the clinch. Marceau is fighting off a takedown attempt but Martin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Marceau to the mat. Marceau regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Martin is pushing down on Marceau's leg trying to pass to half guard. Marceau is fighting to maintain full guard but Martin has managed to sneak the leg through. Martin is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Marceau's head backwards. Marceau throws a wild body kick that Martin sees coming a mile off. Marceau looks to land a right hand but Martin moved out of range. Marceau throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marceau throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Martin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Good exchange - Marceau coming out on top. Marceau gets caught flat footed, as Martin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Marceau trying to strike off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Martin's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Martin lands a couple of digs. Martin is looking to work some ground and pound but Marceau has wrist control. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Marceau is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Martin drops back looking for a leg! Marceau is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Marceau manages to kick Martin off! Martin jumps back into Marceau's guard. Marceau not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Martin walks into a left hand. George Martin seems to be getting the better of the standup. A chopping leg kick lands by Marceau. Marceau misses with a head kick.

Martin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Marceau is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Marceau is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martin advances position into side control! Martin cracks Marceau with a big elbow. Martin landing strikes. Martin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Marceau manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Marceau is staying active underneath Martin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Marceau makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marceau. Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Marceau is retaining full guard. Martin trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Marceau manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Marceau missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Marceau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marceau postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Martin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Marceau thows a big elbow that misses. Marceau has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Marceau preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Xavier Marceau's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Martin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Martin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Martin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marceau to the mat! Marceau manages to get full guard. Marceau wants to sweep but no luck. Martin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Marceau looking to hit a scissor sweep but Martin is one step ahead there. Martin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Martin stands and throws Marceau's legs to the side, diving into side control. Martin is looking to take a break and control but Marceau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marceau sneaks back into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Marceau manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Martin trying to control but Marceau is working from the bottom. Marceau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Martin is in close to Marceau's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Marceau is trying to control the position but Martin postures up. George Martin has got the better of the ground game so far. Marceau is really struggling to control Martin but he's trying to hold on to the position. Marceau manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martin manages to get himself to full guard.

He's now in the guard on the top. Martin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marceau's guard. Martin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Marceau looking for a guillotine here but Martin defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Marceau looking to hit a scissor sweep but Martin is one step ahead there. Marceau being controlled here, momentarily. Martin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that's the end of the fight! George Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
