Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 16 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robo Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Travis Browne!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope throws a lazy head kick

and Browne decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pope's guard.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Browne is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pope is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Browne is controlling him.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Travis Browne wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Browne counters with a takedown into side control.
Pope definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Browne stands up.
Nice sprawl there from Pope as Browne shoots in.
Nice takedown defense from Pope. No joy for Browne on that attempt.

Pope pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pope misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Browne dives in and grabs Pope's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pope pushes down on Browne's head and hops out.
Robo Pope has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Travis Browne.

Robo Pope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Browne seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pope does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Browne is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pope is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pope has escaped and now he's on top!
Browne wants to stand and escape but Pope is having none of it.

Browne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pope doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pope manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pope is not content to let Browne control the position.

Browne is trying to get an arm triangle but Pope is defending well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Browne looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pope is fending him off so far but Browne persists. Nope, Pope circles away and we're back to standing.

so Browne counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pope is wriggling around but Browne manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pope on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pope tries to get out of the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Browne wants to control but Pope is keeping him busy.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Browne working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Browne looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Browne postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pope to stand up.

Browne passes Pope's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pope is staying active underneath Browne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pope pushes Browne off looking to stand but Browne dives back in and keeps control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Travis Browne hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Pope wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Browne has him pressed against the cage.

Browne is trying to maintain a safe position but Pope gets an underhook and turns Browne into the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Pope's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Browne prevents Pope from breaking the clinch.
Pope wants to get back to striking at distance but Browne won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Browne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Browne is looking to take a break and control but Pope is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pope knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Browne on the ground.

Browne is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Travis Browne comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Browne winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
