The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gattuso throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gattuso feints and then cracks Bates's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bates down.
Bates is breathing heavily.
Bates drops his hands momentarily and Gattuso takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Karl Bates has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Gattuso counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Gattuso connects with a nice cross there... Bates is looking wobbly and Gattuso recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Bates to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Gattuso jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
