Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brett Yarris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Dabest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yarris comes into the arena with Land Down Under blaring out of the sound system. Brett Yarris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brett Yarris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Dabest! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yarris moves in looking to clinch but Dabest pushes him off. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dabest. Yarris tries to clinch there but Dabest circles away.

Dabest shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Yarris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Yarris is looking to improve his position.
Yarris actively working from the bottom here. Yarris is looking for a sweep. Dabest is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dabest is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Yarris taking some punishment here, with Dabest in his half guard. Dabest thows a huge punch but Yarris dodges it nicely.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dabest fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yarris, pushing him back against the cage. Dabest breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dabest instigates a clinch. Dabest is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yarris pulls him back up using the underhooks. Dabest looking to slow down the pace here. Yarris gets through Dabest's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Dabest can't get the takedown.
Brett Yarris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Dabest.

Yarris has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dabest is looking for a triangle but Yarris pushes his legs off easily.
Yarris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Yarris looking to pass the guard. Dabest has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Yarris trying to control the position from guard on top but Dabest is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yarris distracts Dabest with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Yarris trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Yarris lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Yarris in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dabest wants to sweep here but Yarris controlling him for the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yarris closes the distance but Dabest moves to the side and Dabest counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dabest tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Yarris just stands there and leans against the cage. Dabest has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Yarris clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Dabest looks gassed! Dabest is persistently looking for the submission but Yarris is defending it well.
Dabest throwing sloppy strikes. Yarris trying to control the hands but Dabest won't let him. Dabest doesn't have the hooks in and Yarris manages to turn into his guard.
Yarris throwing strikes but missing. Yarris working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dabest's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yarris trying to control the position from guard on top but Dabest is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yarris lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Yarris drops back looking for a leg! Dabest is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dabest manages to kick Yarris off! Yarris jumps back into Dabest's guard. Dabest manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yarris wants to control but Dabest is having none of it. Dabest moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Yarris has worked his arm free - good work by Yarris!
Yarris tries to bench press Dabest off him but Dabest keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ian Dabest dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Dabest throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yarris's waist but Yarris gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dabest off to one side. Yarris closes the distance but Dabest moves to the side and Dabest counters with a single leg into guard. Yarris didn't expect that. Dabest wants to control from the top but Yarris keeps moving. Yarris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Yarris looking to control.
Yarris looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dabest distracts Yarris with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Yarris tries to strike from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yarris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dabest pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yarris is keeping the position for now. Dabest wants to control from the top but Yarris keeps moving. Yarris is looking for a triangle but Dabest pushes his legs off easily.
Dabest lands a couple of decent looking shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dabest trying to control but Yarris is working from the bottom. Yarris looking for a sweep. Not yet Yarris, not yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dabest will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Yarris tries to clinch but Dabest moves away and Dabest counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Yarris striking from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dabest shoots in looking for a takedown. Yarris tries to sprawl out of it but Dabest keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yarris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Yarris tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. No luck for Dabest with that takedown attempt. Yarris closes the distance but Dabest moves to the side and Dabest counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dabest wants to control from the top but Yarris keeps moving. Dabest tries to free his leg and advance position but Yarris is retaining full guard. Yarris scores with a nice shot. Yarris wants to get back to his feet but Dabest is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ian Dabest has got the better of the ground game so far. Yarris looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Yarris had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dabest is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Yarris Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dabest's back instead. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Yarris's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Ian Dabest showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Dabest rushes Yarris and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dabest tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dabest works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Yarris throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Dabest wants to control from the top but Yarris keeps moving. Dabest trying to move into half guard but instead Yarris has managed to sweep! Yarris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dabest looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dabest utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yarris is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Dabest throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Yarris escapes and throws Dabest's legs to the side, diving into side control! Dabest struggling a bit here. Yarris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Yarris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yarris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Yarris is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dabest is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Yarris fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dabest is trying to control Yarris's posture but Yarris avoids it. Dabest tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yarris wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Dabest struggling a bit here. Dabest is looking for a sweep. Yarris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dabest, who protects the arm well. Dabest is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Yarris's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Yarris is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yarris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dabest's head. Dabest moves into full guard.
Dabest throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Dabest doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Dabest is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dabest is trying to control the position but Yarris postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yarris trying to control but Dabest is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yarris tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dabest counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dabest.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dabest tries for a takedown but Yarris manages to get underhooks.
Dabest is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yarris pulls him back up using the underhooks. Brett Yarris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Dabest. Yarris lands a nice uppercut. Yarris working some nice short punches in the clinch. Dabest drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A nice left hand lands by Yarris.
Brett Yarris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Yarris softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Dabest wants a takedown but no success here.
Ian Dabest is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Yarris lands on the inside with an uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ian Dabest. I've got Dabest winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
