Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Dee BJ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Hanson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BJ tries to clinch but Hanson moves away
and Hanson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
BJ blocks a head kick by Hanson.
BJ slips a jab and a cross from Hanson.
Hanson clobbers BJ with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
BJ moves in looking to clinch but Hanson pushes him off.
BJ closes the distance and pushes Hanson back into the cage.
Hanson gets underhooks to prevent BJ's takedown attempt.
BJ is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hanson to keep the fight standing.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hanson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
BJ tries to clinch
and Hanson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
BJ is looking to clinch but Hanson is avoiding it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hanson.
BJ tries to clinch but Hanson is having none of it.
Hanson connects with a high kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hanson, right into the meat.
BJ shoots for a takedown but Hanson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Dee BJ. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hanson drops BJ with a naaaaasty hook - BJ is in real trouble here! Hanson dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

An out of breath Dave Hanson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Jay Dee BJ spoke after the fight, saying 'The meaning of being a fighter is to give it all your best shot, and come back even stronger. This time I have lost, and I'm sorry for disappointing you all, but I promise to train harder and come back into the octagon next time an even better fighter.'.
