Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Sewell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Neto!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sewell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Sewell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sewell swings for the body but Neto moves out of range.
Neto stuffs the takedown.
Sewell throws out a leg kick but Neto moves out of range and Sewell only half commits.

Sewell gets the takedown into side control.

Neto is pushing Sewell's head away, looking to escape. Sewell manages to hold on to the position though.
Sewell is looking to take a break and control but Neto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The strikes coming from Sewell are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neto wants to get back to his feet.

Sewell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Sewell avoids the attempt from Neto to control.
Neto is trying to escape the mount.
Neto bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Sewell dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Neto circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sewell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Neto is trying to control Sewell's posture but Sewell avoids it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sewell in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Sewell trying to control the action but Neto is working from the bottom.

Sewell decides to stand back up. Sewell steps back and let's Neto get back to his feet.

Sewell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sewell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Sewell not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Sewell is pressing down on Neto's thigh, looking to free his foot. Neto is holding on for now.
Neto tries to kick Sewell off but Sewell keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Neto won't allow Sewell to pass to mount.

Sewell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neto trying to control from the bottom.
Neto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sewell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sewell's back!
Will Neto go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sewell really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Neto's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.
Neto really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Sewell.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Neto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sewell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Neto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sewell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Neto to the mat! Neto manages to get full guard.
Sewell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Neto pulls Sewell in close to prevent any damage.
Neto keeping moving, preventing Sewell from controlling successfully.
Sewell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neto is trying to keep Sewell in close.

Sewell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Neto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sewell fails in his attempt to clinch.

Sewell moves in looking to clinch but Neto pushes him off.
Sewell doesn't manage to clinch there - Neto circles away.
Sewell wants to clinch up but Neto keeps it at a distance.
Sewell looks to land a body kick but Neto moved away.
Neto moves out of range of the body kick.

Sewell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Neto is squirming around, avoiding Sewell's attempts to control the action.
Sewell throwing strikes but Neto bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Neto looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Sewell is defending well. Neto quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Sewell has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Neto celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Antonio Neto!
