PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Second One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Ringo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ringo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thunderstruck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jon Ringo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Second One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Ringo. Those never looked like landing.

Ringo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jon Ringo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ringo got a little sloppy there for a moment and One has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ringo has managed to get both his arms back between One's legs - danger averted.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ringo tried to score with a low kick but One checks it.
One shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ringo pinned against the cage. Ringo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
One tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ringo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten One somewhat.
One tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ringo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ringo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
One wants to get back to striking at distance but Ringo won't allow it.
One misses with a short punch on the inside.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
One drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ringo gets the underhooks and prevents it.

One tries to clinch up but Ringo circles away and keeps his distance.

Ringo goes for a double leg but One avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as One continues to drive forward.

One is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ringo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip One to the mat. One regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

One had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ringo defends it easily.

Well Ringo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jon Ringo tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
