The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Medvedev connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ba momentarily.

Ba throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Medvedev was covering up waiting for the punch and Ba finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ba connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Medvedev to escape the position.

That has opened up Dimka Medvedev's cut even more.
Medvedev is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Medvedev is trying to defend against the choke here but Ba has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Ba Tightens the hold and Medvedev taps out furiously! Ba displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
