PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Project Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rick Ross was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Project Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Ross!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter shoots in looking for a takedown. Ross tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ross manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ross is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ross takes a swing at Fighter's ribcage but misses.
Fighter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ross sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fighter misses the jab.
Ross tries to close the distance and clinch but Fighter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ross wants to clinch up but Fighter keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ross breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ross tries to clinch up.
Ross stuffs the takedown.
Ross tries to clinch there but Fighter circles away.

Fighter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ross is trying to defend but Fighter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fighter is working for a submission of some sort.
Fighter is thwarting Ross's attempts to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ross is trying to get back to full guard.
Fighter not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Fighter is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Fighter maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ross could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Fighter has cracked it and Ross is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Project Fighter!
