Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Munir Isa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eli Eagle!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Isa.
Eagle shoots for a double leg takedown but Isa sprawls well. He's pushed Eagle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Isa has closed the distance and engaged Eagle in a clinch.
Isa using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Eagle has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Isa misses with an elbow over the top.
Isa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Isa throws a wild body kick that Eagle sees coming a mile off.
Eagle fails to land the takedown.
Eagle takes one to the chin there.
Horrible takedown by Eagle or perhaps it was just good defense by Isa which made him look bad.

Eagle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Isa!

Isa is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Eagle goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Isa is on top in guard.

Isa wants to stand but Eagle has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Eagle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Eagle had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Isa is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Eagle Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Isa's back instead.
Isa has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Eagle has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Isa trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Eagle misses with an elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eagle doesn't have the hooks in and Isa manages to turn into his guard.
Isa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Eagle takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Isa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Isa clinches.
Isa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Eagle takes a knee right on the jaw!
Isa is pressed up against the cage. Eagle has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Isa down to the mat. Isa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Eagle tries to keep at a distance but Isa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Isa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Eagle avoids the head kick by Isa.
Isa throws a head kick but Eagle moves out of range.

Eagle misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Eagle fails to land a wild elbow strike.
An elbow from Eagle crashes against the mat.
Isa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eagle on the ground.
Isa dodges the ground and pound from Eagle.
Eagle tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Eagle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Eagle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Isa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Eagle tries for a takedown but Isa manages to get underhooks.

Isa bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Isa's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Isa pushes Eagle back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Isa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice shot lands for Isa.
Isa lands with a kick to the temple. Eagle shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Eagle shoots in but Isa avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Eagle shoots in and bounces Isa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Eagle throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Eagle flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Isa jabs Eagle right on the nose. Eagle blinks but takes it well.
Eagle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Eagle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Munir Isa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Eagle takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Isa scores with a shot to the body.
Isa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Eagle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Isa throws a sloppy head kick and Eagle moves out of range easily.
Isa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Isa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Isa wants to control but Eagle is having none of it.

Eagle swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Isa is now in Eagle's guard. A big mistake from Eagle there, giving up the dominant position!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Eagle moves into full guard.
Isa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eagle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Eagle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Isa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Isa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Eli Eagle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eagle is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Isa frees his head nicely. Oh but Eagle has switched to an armbar! Isa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
