Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dayton Kain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Wentworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wentworth shoots in but no luck this time.
Wentworth ducks under a wild hook from Kain.
Kain misses with a takedown

and Wentworth counters with a single leg into guard. Kain didn't expect that.
Wentworth postures up and lands a big shot to Kain's brow.
Wentworth won't allow Kain to get back to his feet.
Wentworth wants to control from the top but Kain keeps moving.
Wentworth trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Wentworth passes into half guard.
Wentworth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kain flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Wentworth tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Kain makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Kain looks to throw the jab but Wentworth is out of range.

Wentworth thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wentworth is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kain is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kain stuffs the takedown attempt from Wentworth. Wentworth gets slowly back to his feet.
Wentworth tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kain swivels and escapes.

The fighters circling - Kain throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wentworth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kain's waist but Kain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wentworth off to one side.

Kain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wentworth ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

A telegraphed right hand from Kain misses the target.
Kain throws a right hand that Wentworth ducks under and follows up with a left that Wentworth also avoids with ease.

Wentworth tries to score a body lock takedown but Kain shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kain is pressed up against the cage. Wentworth has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kain down to the mat. Kain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Wentworth counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Wentworth is standing up over Kain. Kain looks to escape but Wentworth dives into side control.
Kain is pushing Wentworth's head away, looking to escape. Wentworth manages to hold on to the position though.

Kain is trying to get back to his feet but Wentworth has full control of the position and if anything, Kain has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Wentworth has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kain has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
