Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sharky Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickey Spillane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shark comes to the cage accompanied by Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer. Nickey Spillane is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sharky Shark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nickey Spillane! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shark misses with a lunging right hand
and Spillane counters with a takedown into side control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Shark taking a bit of punishment here - Spillane scoring with strikes. Spillane scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shark to see if he's OK. Spillane lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shark down.
This has been an exciting period of action! Shark is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Spillane's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Spillane has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shark is looking for a sweep. Spillane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Spillane thows a huge punch but Shark dodges it nicely.

Shark keeps control of the position for the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shark works his way to full guard. Good work. Spillane keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shark's head. Shark manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Spillane is squirming around, avoiding Shark's attempts to control the action. Spillane tries to reverse the position but Shark maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shark avoids the attempt from Spillane to control. Shark prevents Spillane from getting the reversal. Shark can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Spillane is looking to escape. Spillane is looking to improve his position but Shark isn't that keen on the idea. Shark avoids the attempt from Spillane to control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spillane is desperately trying to improve his position but Shark has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shark can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Spillane is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shark prevents Spillane from getting the reversal. Shark takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Shark avoids the attempt from Spillane to control. Shark content just to control the position here. Spillane is squirming around, avoiding Shark's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spillane felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sharky Shark. Spillane checks the leg kick. Shark clinches. Spillane misses with the head strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spillane tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shark's elbow. Shark misses with a punch on the inside.
Spillane tries to pull guard but Shark holds him up against the cage and eventually Spillane drops back down to his feet.

Spillane misses with an uppercut. Spillane on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Shark connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Spillane takes a shot right to the bread basket. Shark connects with a high kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shark swings for the body but Spillane moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Shark. Spillane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Spillane throws a hook but Shark blocks it. Spillane throws a combination that misses and Shark counters with a slapping leg kick. Shark swings for the body but Spillane moves out of range.
Spillane fakes the leg kick and cracks Shark in the body. Spillane misses with a straight right. Nice shot lands for Spillane. Spillane's corner calls for a 1-2. Spillane obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Sharky Shark is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shark moves out of range of the strikes. Spillane will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sharky Shark is winning the standup battle so far. Shark takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Spillane moves forwards but Shark connects with a nice, crisp jab. Shark keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Shark tries to throw a body punch but Spillane avoids it by throwing Shark back against the cage. Nice body punch from Spillane. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Shark works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Shark definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Spillane struggles to land a body shot inside as Shark controls his hands.

Shark lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Spillane misses with a hook from the clinch. Shark takes a shot to the head. Spillane fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Spillane swings wildly with an uppercut but Shark uses good head movement to avoid it. Spillane swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Shark. This has been an exciting period of action! Spillane stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Shark stuffs the takedown attempt from Spillane. Spillane gets slowly back to his feet. Sharky Shark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nickey Spillane. Spillane tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Shark is able to avoid easily. Spillane uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shark.
Spillane moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Spillane throws the left hand but Shark avoids the punch easily. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shark swings for the body but Spillane moves out of range.
Spillane doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Shark misses with a kick to the body.
Shark lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Spillane at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Sharky Shark will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Spillane is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Shark walks into a jab. No joy there for Spillane, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spillane ducks right into an uppercut from Shark. Spillane misses with an uppercut. Shark saw that one coming. Spillane lands a nice looking kick to the body. Shark takes a step back to recover. Shark connects with a jab. Shark is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Spillane throws a big shot that misses. Spillane checks a leg kick. Shark dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Spillane sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Spillane tries to land a body kick and Shark counters with a stiff right hand. Shark moves out of range of the leg kick from Spillane. Spillane is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shark.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shark throws a low kick, looking for Spillane's leg but Spillane calmly moves out of range. Spillane scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Shark is looking for a sweep. Sloppy strikes there by Spillane. Shark is trying to control Spillane's posture but Spillane avoids it. Spillane is looking to take a break and control but Shark is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Shark tries to get back to half guard but can't. Spillane tries to move into full mount but can't pass Shark's legs. Shark is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Shark manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Spillane sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shark defending well though. Shark slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spillane advances position into side control! Shark gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Spillane not landing any meaningful shots this time. Shark is looking to improve his position.
Shark moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Shark keeping moving, preventing Spillane from controlling successfully. Spillane throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spillane cracks Shark with a solid left hand. Shark wants to sweep but no luck. Spillane loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Shark avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Spillane stands and throws Shark's legs to the side, diving into side control. Shark is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Spillane wants to take a breather but Shark is having none of it. Spillane missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Spillane lands a nice short elbow. Shark trying to control here.
Spillane looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shark with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. This has been an exciting period of action! Spillane sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shark defending well though. Spillane tries to pass to full mount but Shark defends it. Shark wants to control but Spillane is keeping busy and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight! Nickey Spillane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Spillane has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
