Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Romulo Barral! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andokuhle Congo! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Barral with that takedown attempt. Barral shoots in for a double leg but Congo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Barral looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Congo clinches. Congo misses with a punch to the body.
Congo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Barral wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Romulo Barral. That's going to take a lot out of him. A shot in the inside from Congo. Congo is pushing Barral up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Congo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A short left from Congo. Barral misses with some punches.
Barral tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Congo smiles and moves away.
Congo dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Congo cracks Barral with a good jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barral keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Congo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Barral dives in for a single leg takedown but Congo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Congo displaying some good clinch control by pressing Barral up against the cage. Barral tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Congo just stands there and leans against the cage. Barral ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Barral no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Congo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barral swivels though and keeps the full guard. Congo stays in close to Barral's body and controls the position. Barral looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Congo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barral. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barral is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Congo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Andokuhle Congo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Barral fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Congo takes the fight into the clinch. Congo misses with a body punch.
Congo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Barral throws a head punch that misses. Barral is trying to pull guard but Congo has him pressed against the cage. Congo cracks Barral with a nice body shot. Congo lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Barral backwards. Congo avoiding damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Congo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Congo scores with a nice hook to the head. Congo lands with a short shot to the head. Barral jumps guard but Congo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Congo lands a body punch. Barral is breathing heavily. Barral fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A left hand lands to the body for Congo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Congo lands a body punch in the clinch. Congo lands a right hand. The referee is keeping an eye on Congo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Congo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Congo lands a shot to the body. Congo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Congo scores with a nice hook to the head.
Barral is rocked! Nice body punch from Congo - that landed with a thud.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Congo. Oh Barral is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Congo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Congo dips a shoulder and cracks Barral with a mighty uppercut! Barral falls back against the cage and Congo unloads with a barrage of strikes! Barral is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Congo screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andokuhle Congo! During a confident post fight interview, Andokuhle Congo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
