Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sau Minneo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Coors Light!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minneo connects with a high kick.
Minneo pushes Light away with a front kick.
Light tries to clinch but Minneo moves out of range.
Minneo throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Light fails with the takedown
and Minneo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Minneo keeps Light at a distance using the push kick.
Minneo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Minneo moves into range and connects with a jab.
Light has a takedown stuffed.
Light shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Minneo counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sau Minneo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Coors Light.
Minneo stalks Light and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Light's face. Light staggers backwards, shaken.
Light is rocked!
Minneo scores with a kick to the body.
Light is still on wobbly legs! Can Minneo finish him?
Light looks winded!
Minneo lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Light - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Minneo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sau Minneo!
After winning the bout, Sau Minneo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
