Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Boothe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phukyorselvf Uzannavabizch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Boothe! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Phukyorselvf Uzannavabizch! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uzannavabizch fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Boothe walks into a left hand. Boothe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Uzannavabizch. A big left from Uzannavabizch misses. Boothe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Uzannavabizch to score with a decent uppercut. Uzannavabizch scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Boothe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Uzannavabizch throws out the jab. Uzannavabizch avoids the head kick by Boothe.

Uzannavabizch sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Uzannavabizch gets the takedown into side control. Uzannavabizch is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boothe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Boothe tries to escape but Uzannavabizch is in control. Uzannavabizch tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uzannavabizch working the ground and pound but Boothe is defending the strikes. The strikes coming from Uzannavabizch are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Boothe defending against the ground and pound. Boothe dodges the ground and pound from Uzannavabizch. Boothe tries to escape but Uzannavabizch is in control. Uzannavabizch is trying to ground and pound but Boothe uses the momentary lack of control by Uzannavabizch to regain half guard. Boothe tries to roll over but Uzannavabizch keeps him under control. Boothe looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boothe is looking for a sweep. Uzannavabizch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Uzannavabizch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Uzannavabizch not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Boothe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Uzannavabizch. Uzannavabizch is thwarting Boothe's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boothe is staying active underneath Uzannavabizch, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Boothe blocking the ground and pound attempt from Uzannavabizch. Uzannavabizch seems to be working for a kimura but Boothe defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uzannavabizch is looking for a kimura but Boothe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Uzannavabizch to get the leverage. Uzannavabizch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boothe's head. Uzannavabizch throwing shots but Boothe is blocking nicely. Boothe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Uzannavabizch. Boothe pushes Uzannavabizch off looking to stand but Uzannavabizch dives back in and keeps control.
Uzannavabizch landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Uzannavabizch wants to pass to mount but Boothe is defending the position. Uzannavabizch thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Uzannavabizch is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Boothe is trying is best to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uzannavabizch passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Boothe! Boothe regains half guard. Uzannavabizch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boothe blocking the ground and pound attempt from Uzannavabizch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boothe manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Uzannavabizch keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Uzannavabizch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boothe smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Boothe. Uzannavabizch shrugs it off though. Uzannavabizch jabbing away but nothing is landing. Boothe jabs Uzannavabizch right on the nose. Uzannavabizch blinks but takes it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phukyorselvf Uzannavabizch dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Uzannavabizch connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Boothe's hands. Uzannavabizch misses with a looping left. Boothe ducks under a wild hook from Uzannavabizch. Boothe connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Boothe moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Uzannavabizch has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Boothe. Boothe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Uzannavabizch looks to land a left hand but Boothe moved out of range nicely. Boothe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Uzannavabizch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boothe lands a left and a right that send Uzannavabizch crashing to the mat, dazed. Boothe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Uzannavabizch is rocked! Boothe misses with a series of wild punches.
Uzannavabizch is still on wobbly legs! Can Boothe finish him? Boothe throws a quick inside leg kick. Uzannavabizch seems to have recovered his senses. Uzannavabizch uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boothe.
Boothe wants to land a leg kick but Uzannavabizch is out of range. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Boothe! Uzannavabizch is out on his feet! Boothe rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Uzannavabizch is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Uzannavabizch is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Boothe! Thomas Boothe retains his light heavyweight title!
