31 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kickin Rad! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Daniels! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels is looking to clinch. Daniels fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. A low kick from Daniels is predictable there and Rad counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Daniels! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Daniels tries to bench press Rad off him but Rad keeps the position. Daniels is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rad's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Daniels tries to roll over but Rad keeps him under control. Rad throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rad perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Daniels tries to get to full guard but Rad has control of the leg. This has been an exciting period of action! Rad with the ground and pound but Daniels uses the opportunity to regain guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rad checks a leg kick. The fighters circling - Rad throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kickin Rad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rad swats away the attempt to clinch by Daniels.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rad buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rad throws out a leg kick but Daniels moves out of range and Rad only half commits. Daniels shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Rad connects with a single shot there. Good standup being displayed there by Daniels as he connects with a hook. Rad misses with a leg kick. Rad chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Daniels can pounce on him.
Rad thows a left - swing and a miss! Rad takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Daniels throws a nice outside leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rad takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

He's obviously looking to slow Rad down. A chopping leg kick lands by Rad. A head kick by Rad misses and Daniels counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A battle for position here, against the cage. Daniels pushes off an throws an elbow but Rad leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Rad takes a shot to the head. Rad tries to land knees in the clinch but Daniels avoids the damage to the body. Daniels tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rad's elbow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rad avoiding damage.

John Daniels is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Daniels fakes the leg kick and cracks Rad in the body. Rad throws a jab but it's blocked by Daniels. Rad stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Daniels. Daniels chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Daniels uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rad. Daniels checks a low kick from Rad. Daniels fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rad avoids the head kick by Daniels.
Daniels fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rad has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kickin Rad wasn't doing enough on the ground. Rad with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

I was talking to Rad's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Rad misses with a hook to the ribs.
Rad is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Good body shot from Rad.
Daniels tries to land knees in the clinch but Rad avoids the damage to the body. Daniels blocks a body shot from Rad. Rad blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rad is defending well for now. Rad jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Daniels walks away with a smile on his face. Rad gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rad throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rad connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Rad throws out a loose jab but Daniels uses good head movement to avoid it. Rad misses with a double jab
and Daniels counters by moving into the clinch. Daniels lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rad backwards. Daniels blocks a body shot from Rad. Daniels tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rad's elbow. Daniels tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rad avoids it. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Rad blocks a punch to the side of the head.

A short uppercut from Daniels. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rad drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Rad does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Daniels attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Daniels wants to clinch. Rad misses with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Daniels 's head but he takes it in his stride. Rad takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rad delivers a nice body kick. Rad tries a head kick but it misses.

Rad is doing well to control the position and prevent Daniels from advancing to side control. Kickin Rad overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rad looking for submissions off his back. Daniels wants to stand but Rad has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daniels is pressing down on Rad's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rad is holding on for now. Rad has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Daniels escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Daniels! Rad is not content to let Daniels control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Daniels tries to advance to mount but Rad denies him.
