Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Cintron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
28 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rocky Blyer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cintron throws a right hand that Blyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Blyer also avoids with ease.
Cintron has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brick Brawlers MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Blyer, as that shot connected.
A punch combination from Blyer misses.
A combination from Blyer does no damage.
Cintron falls off balance throwing a combination
and Blyer lands a stunning uppercut that sends Cintron to the mat!
Cintron is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Blyer stands up from half guard.
Oh Cintron is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blyer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cintron is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Blyer misses with the combination.
Cintron tries to clinch
and Blyer rattles Cintron with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Cintron tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Blyer dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Cintron stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rocky Blyer!
Rocky Blyer spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
