Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raimo Rento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hess's entrance music is Demiurge. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess scoring well with a low kick there.
Hess connects with a leg kick. Rento looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Rento throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hess stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hess throws out a powerful jab.
Rento pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rento keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hess throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rento cracks Hess with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Jon Hess has been cut.

Hess lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rento will feel that in the morning.

Hess throws a leg kick but Rento sees it coming and checks it nicely.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rento has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Hess ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

No joy there for Hess, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rento connects with a jab.

Rento jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hess throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A clash of legs there as Hess blocks the low kick.
Hess tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rento was well out of range. Poor timing from Hess.
We've been told by Hess's head coaches at In the Penile Colony that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rento's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rento duly obliges.
Hess scores with a sloppy right hand. Rento should have avoided that one.
Rento misses the shot to the body.
Hess fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hess, right into the meat.
Hess feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rento's calf.

Rento is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rento thows a body shot but no joy.

A punch lands to the side of Hess 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hess chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rento can pounce on him.
Hess on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rento. Rento obviously looking to wear him down.
Rento tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hess thows a body kick. Rento tries to catch it but that hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hess.
Hess moves away from the strike by Rento.
Rento has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hess finds it's way round the side to connect with Rento's head.
Hess ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hess fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rento.
Rento's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Hess throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hess connects with a body shot that sends Rento's belly button to the back.
Hess is looking to wear down Rento with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Hess lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rento's sensitive parts.
Hess darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hess bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hess throws a body punch but Rento moves out of range.
Hess is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Hess lands with an uppercut that bounces Rento off the cage and back into range.
Hess connects with a solid leg kick.
Hess scores with a leg kick.
Hess thuds a left hand into Rento's body.
Hess wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hess keeps Rento at a distance using the push kick.
Hess fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hess lands a leg kick that knocks Rento off balance momentarily.
Hess swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Hess dominated that round.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A nice inside leg kick there by Hess. That's going to slow Rento down.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Rento in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

and Hess counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hess drops Rento with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rento looks back up at him and smiles so Hess waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Rento is rocked!
Rento is breathing heavily.
Hess throws a leg kick but Rento sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Both fighters circling a little - Hess finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rento gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Hess gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Hess!
