Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuri Solovynov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Hearns! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Solovynov wants to clinch. Hearns lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Yuri Solovynov has been cut. Solovynov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Solovynov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hearns to his feet. Solovynov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hearns circles away. Solovynov shoots in for a takedown but Hearns shows good takedown defense. Hearns lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Hearns escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Solovynov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Solovynov wants to get up but he can't break Hearns's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yuri Solovynov will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Solovynov has Hearns pressed against the cage, preventing Hearns from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Solovynov escapes and throws Hearns's legs to the side, diving into side control! Hearns takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hearns sneaks back into half guard. Hearns is trying to escape back to his feet but Solovynov uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solovynov stands up. Nice sprawl there from Hearns as Solovynov shoots in. Thomas Hearns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Solovynov has a takedown stuffed.
And that's the end of the fight! Yuri Solovynov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Solovynov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
