PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kasper Koltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Woodley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woodley has chosen No Comin' Back as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kasper Koltun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyrone Woodley!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Woodley misses the shot to the body.

Koltun gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Woodley blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Woodley has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Koltun's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Koltun throws a one two combo.
Koltun scores with a jab.
Woodley shoots in looking for a takedown but Koltun manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Woodley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Koltun tests Woodley's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Koltun throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Woodley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Koltun pinned against the cage. Koltun gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Koltun scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A solid leg kick lands there for Koltun.
Koltun steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Woodley.
We've been told by Koltun's head coaches at Commonwealth that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Woodley takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sloppy strikes from Woodley. Those never looked like landing.
Woodley looks to land a combination but Koltun avoids it well.
Woodley takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Koltun gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Woodley cracks Koltun with a solid left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koltun wants to sweep here but Woodley controlling him for the moment.
Woodley throwing strikes but missing.
Woodley landing with the ground and pound.
Woodley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Koltun working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Woodley.
Koltun utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Woodley throws a strike but Koltun rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Woodley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Koltun doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Koltun manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Woodley is looking for a triangle here but Koltun uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Koltun controls the position from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kasper Koltun dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Woodley throws a right hand that Koltun ducks under and follows up with a left that Koltun also avoids with ease.
Koltun connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Koltun connects with a looping right hand.
Woodley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Koltun manages to avoid it.
Woodley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koltun tries to avoid it but Woodley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koltun to the ground. Koltun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Koltun scoring well with a low kick there.
Koltun cracks Woodley with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Koltun lands a nice looking kick to the body. Woodley takes a step back to recover.

Koltun clinches with his opponent.

Koltun breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koltun has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Woodley finds it's way round the side to connect with Koltun's head.
Woodley tries to move into range but Koltun moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Woodley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koltun moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Koltun clinches up with Woodley and pushes him back against the cage.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Koltun.
Woodley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Koltun has him pressed against the cage.

Woodley's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!


Woodley is rocked!

Woodley is still on wobbly legs! Can Koltun finish him?
Koltun lands with a right to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Still in the clinch, Koltun scores with a nice short uppercut.
Koltun working aggressively here.
Koltun creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Woodley's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Woodley drops to his knees and Koltun pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kasper Koltun!
