Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mercury Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen . as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joaquin Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mercury Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A combination from Hansen does no damage.
Jones tries for a takedown but Hansen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hansen, right into the meat.
Hansen throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hansen tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hansen blocks a jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Hansen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hansen off to one side.
Hansen moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Hansen keeps him there for the moment.
Hansen manages to break the clinch.
Hansen has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Hansen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Hansen's head but Hansen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Mercury Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Hansen sprawls well.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hansen fails with the takedown
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joaquin Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hansen instigates a clinch.
Hansen scores a nice knee to the body.
Hansen scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Mercury Jones has been cut.
Jones looks gassed!
Hansen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jones up against the cage.
Hansen landing knees to the body.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hansen smiles and moves away.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Hansen. Hansen gets slowly back to his feet.
Hansen thows a body kick. Jones tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Jones takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hansen fails to land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Hansen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hansen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hansen landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hansen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hansen lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Hansen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hansen displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Jones is rocked!
Hansen lands a hook that stumbles Jones back into the cage. Hansen follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Jones to the canvas! Hansen pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Jones has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Joaquin Hansen!
