PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes into the arena with happy blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Fadden!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fadden looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Brown trying to control from the bottom.
Fadden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Brown wants to get back to full guard.
Fadden is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fadden thows a huge punch but Brown dodges it nicely.
Brown is looking to improve his position.
Fadden working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Brown trying to control from the bottom.
Brown tries to get to full guard but Fadden has control of the leg.
Fadden looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fadden throws a strike but Brown avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Fadden must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fadden wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fadden passes Brown's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fadden keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Fadden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Fadden throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fadden is looking for a kimura but Brown is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fadden to get the leverage.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Brown gets back to full guard.
Brown preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Brown has momentary wrist control but Fadden slips an elbow through the middle.
Fadden chips away with some ground and pound.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Fadden from controlling successfully.
Fadden with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fadden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brown is working an open guard so Fadden takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fadden connects with a right hand. Brown shakes it off.
Fadden throws a leg kick but Brown moved away.

Fadden bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fadden working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Fadden is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Brown is rocked!
Fadden scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Brown is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Fadden can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Fadden!
John Fadden seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Ryan Brown had this to say: 'Man this sucks'.
