Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Lee!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lee on his heels. He'll look to pass Lee's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gracie stands and steps away. Lee gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Lee counters with a big head kick but Gracie shrugs it off.
Gracie fails with the takedown.
Lee lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lee connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lee sizes up Gracie with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lee has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lee defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Lee into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gracie seems to have got his legs back now.
Lee lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Gracie to his knees! Lee keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Lee!
A relieved looking Bruce Lee thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
