Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Terry Hoitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Genaro Barraza!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Barraza.
Hoitz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Barraza staying out of range there.
Barraza connects with a nice looking jab.
Barraza throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Barraza shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hoitz eats them both and turns towards Barraza to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hoitz goes for a double leg but Barraza avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Barraza continues to drive forward.

Barraza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hoitz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Barraza throws a right and a left that Hoitz avoids nicely.

Barraza fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hoitz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
No joy there for Barraza, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barraza throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hoitz sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Barraza dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Barraza throws a lazy right hand but Hoitz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hoitz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barraza.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hoitz. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Barraza lands with a nice combination. Hoitz backs away looking to recover.
Barraza has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barraza darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoitz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Barraza tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoitz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Barraza gets caught flat footed, as Hoitz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Genaro Barraza dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Barraza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hoitz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barraza as he avoids it easily.

Hoitz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Oh Hoitz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hoitz dives in for a single leg takedown but Barraza sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Barraza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hoitz was well out of range. Poor timing from Barraza.
Hoitz looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Barraza lands a big right hand that sends Hoitz crashing to the mat! Barraza stays standing though and waves Hoitz back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hoitz looks up at the clock. Bad move! Barraza lands a right hand from hell, dropping Hoitz. Barraza pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
