Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter has chosen Galneryus - Everlasting as his entrance music. Reggie Slaughter could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tim Hunter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Reggie Slaughter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter moves into the clinch successfully.
Hunter goes for a takedown attempt but Slaughter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hunter leaves Slaughter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hunter gets the takedown into side control.
Slaughter wants to get back to his feet but Hunter drags him back down.
Hunter sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Slaughter is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hunter throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Slaughter works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Hunter is looking to advance position but Slaughter won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slaughter pushes Hunter off looking to stand but Hunter dives back in and keeps control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hunter in particular looking to stall.
Hunter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tim Hunter.
Hunter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tim Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slaughter walks into a jab.
An inside leg kick lands from Hunter.

Hunter is looking to clinch but Slaughter is avoiding it.
Slaughter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hunter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Slaughter misses with a series of wild punches.
No joy there for Slaughter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slaughter darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hunter wants to clinch up but Slaughter keeps it at a distance.
Slaughter ducks under a wild hook from Hunter.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Slaughter is trying to force a seperation but Hunter has the dominant position.
A nice left hand lands by Hunter.
Hunter manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Hunter keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Slaughter's efforts to push away.

Slaughter has been working on his balance at Basics -LOD- , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hunter.
Hunter lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Slaughter.

Slaughter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hunter.
Reggie Slaughter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Hunter.
Slaughter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hunter is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hunter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Slaughter manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Slaughter throws a series of punches but Hunter moves out of range.
Hunter shoots in and drives through. Slaughter sprawls well.

A left and a right from Slaughter both land. Nice combination.

Hunter has Slaughter up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hunter tries to throw a body punch but Slaughter avoids it by throwing Hunter back against the cage.
Slaughter jumps guard but Hunter stands there with Slaughter around his waist. Slaughter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Slaughter is pressed up against the cage. Hunter has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slaughter down to the mat. Slaughter avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Slaughter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hunter on the side of the head.
Reggie Slaughter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slaughter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hunter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Slaughter, pushing him back against the cage.

Slaughter fails to pull guard.
Hunter is pushing Slaughter up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Hunter tries to land a leg kick but Slaughter saw it coming and moves away.
We've been informed that Hunter has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Hunter moves into range and clinches up with Slaughter.

Hunter is leaning against Slaughter and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Slaughter wants to get back to striking at distance but Hunter won't allow it.

Hunter tries a body shot but Slaughter blocks it.
Hunter misses with a punch to the body.

Tim Hunter seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Slaughter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hunter dives in and grabs Slaughter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Slaughter pushes down on Hunter's head and hops out.
Tim Hunter seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hunter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hunter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slaughter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hunter is trying to trip Slaughter. He has hold of a leg but Slaughter is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hunter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Slaughter wants to stand up but Hunter is controlling him.
Hunter tries to free his leg and advance position but Slaughter is retaining full guard.
Slaughter is looking to stand up but Hunter isn't so interested in that idea.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well Hunter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
