Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Rekis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Lobas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rekis comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Andy Lobas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Rekis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andy Lobas! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lobas scores with a jab. Rekis shoots in for a takedown but Lobas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lobas misses with a looping left. Nice shot by Lobas. Lobas misses with a wild combination.
Lobas swings for the body but Rekis moves out of range.
Lobas throws a leg kick but Rekis moved away. Lobas scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Andy Lobas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lobas lands with a nice body punch. Lobas stuffs the takedown attempt from Rekis. Rekis gets slowly back to his feet. Lobas misses with a looping left. Nice shot by Lobas. Lobas takes a swing at Rekis's ribcage but misses. Lobas feints a jab promting Rekis to slip. Lobas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rekis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rekis wants to clinch up but Lobas keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rekis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lobas lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Lobas throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lobas fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Lobas lands a right hook to the body.
Rekis has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Rekis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Rekis moves into full mount! Lobas won't be happy about that! Lobas is bucking up trying to escape but Rekis cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rekis lands a big elbow. Lobas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rekis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rekis connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The referee warns Lobas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lobas is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Rekis looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Rekis trying to control but Lobas is having none of it. Lobas wants to hold on but Rekis pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rekis content just to control the position here. Rekis breaks from Lobas's wrist control and lands an elbow. Rekis landing strikes from the mount and Lobas is in trouble! Rekis cracks Lobas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
A nice elbow there by Rekis. Rekis pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Lobas tries to hold on but Rekis postures up. Rekis landing punches. Rekis lands a heavy elbow. Rekis lands with some strikes. Rekis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lobas scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Rekis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Rekis stands and salutes the crowd.
