PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Knez Lazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Pedan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hriste Boze. Alexander Pedan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedan misses the jab.
Pedan tries to clinch up.
Pedan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pedan wants it to stay on the feet.
Pedan slips under a jab.

Lazar on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Pedan feints and then cracks Lazar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lazar down.

Lazar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pedan on his heels. He'll look to pass Pedan's guard now, I'm sure.
Lazar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pedan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Pedan wasn't active enough on the ground.

Pedan moves into range and clinches up with Lazar.

Lazar jumps guard but Pedan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Pedan breaks from the clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Pedan.

Lazar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pedan walks away with a smile on his face. Lazar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Knez Lazar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pedan scores with a jab. Lazar acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Pedan thumps Lazar with a low kick.
Pedan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Pedan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pedan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pedan darts in and clinches Lazar up against the cage.

Pedan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lazar seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Pedan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lazar on the side of the head.

Pedan drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Lazar right on the button. Lazar goes down! Pedan follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Pedan gets the win via TKO!
