Boss has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! John Boss has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francis closes the distance and clinches.
Boss looks gassed!
Francis lands an elbow just above Boss 's eye.
Francis manages to break the clinch.
Francis has managed to clinch.

Francis lands a shoulder strike.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Francis.
Francis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Francis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A jab-cross combination lands for Francis and sends Boss crashing to the mat! Francis follows him down to the mat - Boss regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Boss tries to keep at a distance but Francis has taken the fight into the clinch.

and Francis counters by clinching up.

Francis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Francis throws a half hearted mid kick.

and Francis moves into the clinch.
Patrick Francis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Boss.

With the fighters up against the cage, Francis throws an elbow but misses.
Francis stops a takedown attempt from Boss.
Francis lands with a light punch inside.
Francis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Boss blocks it with crossed arms.
Francis goes for a takedown attempt but Boss pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Francis connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Boss tumbling to the canvas! Francis pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Boss was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Patrick Francis!
