Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zhelin Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ici La Bas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ici La Bas enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

La Bas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Li to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

La Bas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Li is aware though and is defending well.
Li engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Li stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. La Bas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
La Bas trying to keep a closed guard but Li is proving a slippery customer.
Li throws a big right hand that misses.

Li drops back, looking for a kneebar! La Bas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. La Bas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from La Bas!
Li tries to bench press La Bas off him but La Bas keeps the position.

Li is looking to regain half guard here but La Bas keeps moving and retains side control.

La Bas tries for a kimura but Li is defending well.
La Bas wants to control but Li is keeping him busy.
Li is trying to work for a sweep but La Bas has mounted him!
Li is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Li wants to hold on but La Bas pushes him away.
La Bas trying to control but Li is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Li tries to lock up and control but La Bas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
La Bas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Li looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Li bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
La Bas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Li is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now La Bas is on top in guard.
Li pulls La Bas in close to his closed guard and prevents La Bas from doing any damage or advancing position.
La Bas postures up.

Li is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and La Bas defends well.
Li wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Li not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
La Bas wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.
Li has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Li checks a leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Li closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. La Bas did well to prevent Li getting side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Zhelin Li will probably get the nod.
