Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alfred Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oz Rapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oz Rapp has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alfred Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oz Rapp!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rapp fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alexander to the ground. Rapp is now in Alexander's guard.
Alexander could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rapp slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Alexander.

Rapp is working for a kimura but Alexander is defending it quite comfortably.
Rapp is thwarting Alexander's attempts to control the position.
Alexander is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Alexander might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rapp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rapp looks winded!

Alexander moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Alexander has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rapp on the ground.

Alexander is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Alexander trying to keep a closed guard but Rapp is proving a slippery customer.

Alexander has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rapp off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Oz Rapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rapp drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rapp wants to get up but he can't break Alexander's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rapp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alexander swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alexander is trying to control the position but Rapp postures up.

Alfred Alexander has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rapp closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alexander is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Alexander wants to control but Rapp is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rapp works his way into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rapp is looking to stand but Rapp has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Rapp jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Alexander manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Rapp tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Alexander is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rapp has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Alexander is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Rapp tries for a kimura but Alexander is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alexander is trying to control Rapp's posture but Rapp avoids it.
Alexander tries to control but Rapp manages to take his back.

Rapp has got one arm under Alexander's chin. This could be trouble... Alexander trying to control the other hand but Rapp gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Alexander has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Oz Rapp!
