Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louie Litt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Costa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Louie Litt! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Litt throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Costa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Litt counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Litt. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Litt with a flurry of punches that miss. Litt is in close to Costa's body, working some short punches and elbows. Costa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Litt on the ground. Litt controlling from the top position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Litt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Costa wants to sweep here but Litt controlling him for the moment. Litt showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Costa looking for a sweep. Not yet Costa, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Litt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Costa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Litt stands and throws Costa's legs to the side, diving into side control. Litt wants to control but Costa is keeping him busy. Costa parries the strikes from Litt easily there. Litt is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Costa to escape.
Litt working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Costa is looking to reverse the position. Costa is not content to let Litt control the position. Litt taking a breather here. Costa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Costa tries to get out of the position. Costa on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Litt just content to control the position. Litt is looking to take a break and control but Costa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Litt working the body and head with strikes. You can see the frustration on Costa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Costa defending against the ground and pound. Litt lands a nice forearm strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Litt looks up at the clock and then as Costa takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Litt smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Litt working the head and body with strikes. Litt landing strikes. Litt grinds an elbow into Costa's temple. Costa takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Litt lands a decent elbow from side control. Costa controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Litt working the body and head with strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Litt landing strikes. That's four minutes gone in the round. Costa is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Litt scoring with punches from side control. Litt in side control, just content to control the action for now. Costa is not content to let Litt control the position. Litt working the ground and pound from side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Litt throws a strike aimed at the side of Costa's head but Costa avoids it well. Litt cracks Costa with a big elbow. Costa takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Louie Litt dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Costa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Litt counters with a shoot takedown. Costa fights it but they end up in guard. Costa wants to stand up but Litt is controlling him. Litt not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Costa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Litt throwing strikes but missing. Litt controlling from the top position. Costa has momentary wrist control but Litt slips an elbow through the middle. Litt has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Litt passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Litt throwing shots but Costa is blocking nicely. Litt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Litt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Litt is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Litt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Costa defending well though. Litt thows a huge punch but Costa dodges it nicely.
Nice strikes from Litt there. Litt looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Litt winds up and cracks Costa with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costa taking some punishment here, with Litt in his half guard. Litt sitting and controlling from the half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Litt scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Litt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Litt working over Costa with some ground and pound. Costa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Litt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Litt is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Costa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Litt. Costa tries to get to full guard but Litt has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Litt connects with a nice short shot to Costa's temple. Litt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Litt looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Litt lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Litt lands strikes from half guard. Nice strikes from Litt there. Litt landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Costa wants to get back to full guard. Litt seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Costa on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Louie Litt has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Litt looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Litt throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Costa is in trouble now - Litt has advanced to mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Litt controlling from mount. Litt landing punches. Litt looking to control but Costa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Litt looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Litt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Louie Litt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Costa tries to score with a low kick but Litt moves his leg out of the way. Carlos Costa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Litt checks a leg kick. Costa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Costa misses with a leg kick. Litt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A clash of legs there as Litt blocks the low kick. Litt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Litt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Litt lands an elbow. Litt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Costa keeps working. Litt lands an elbow. Litt looks up at the clock and then as Costa takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Litt smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's one minute gone in the round. Costa managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Litt.
Litt passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Costa! Litt cracks Costa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Litt breaks from Costa's wrist control and lands an elbow. Litt wants to control the pace but Costa is squirming around nicely. Costa taking shots to the head. Litt lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Costa hang on? Litt connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Costa is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Litt lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Oh Costa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Litt with good strikes from the mount here! Oooooh, big shot lands for Litt! Costa is hurt baaadly! Litt is firing away with more strikes - Costa is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Louie Litt! Louie Litt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
