Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kagami Taiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smoka Thaverde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smoka Thaverde is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kagami Taiga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Smoka Thaverde! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thaverde misses the jab. Thaverde connects with a single shot there. Taiga circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thaverde tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Taiga was well out of range. Poor timing from Thaverde. A swing and a miss from Thaverde. Thaverde misses with a left hand and Taiga counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Thaverde is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Taiga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Taiga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Thaverde swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taiga closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thaverde did well to prevent Taiga getting side control. Thaverde wants to get back to full guard. Well, if Taiga is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Taiga frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taiga is in the full mount, landing strikes. Taiga controlling the pace for now. Taiga avoids the attempt from Thaverde to control. Taiga lands with some strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taiga fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Taiga sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Thaverde really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taiga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Taiga is in the full mount, landing strikes. Taiga quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Taiga but it's paid off an Thaverde is forced to tap! Nice work by Taiga.
