Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renan Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Brewer!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brewer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santos as he jumps to the side.
Brewer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Santos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Santos dodges the punch combination from Brewer.
Santos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Brewer.
Brewer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Santos defends well and Brewer ends up having to push Santos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Renan Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Brewer.

Santos is trying to trip Brewer. He has hold of a leg but Brewer is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Santos persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Brewer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santos's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been hearing good reports from Santos's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Brewer dives in and grabs Santos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes down on Brewer's head and hops out.
Brewer goes for a double leg but Santos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Santos continues to drive forward.

Santos has Brewer pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Santos pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Brewer tumbling to the mat - Santos dives into Brewer's guard.

Our spies down at at Barbarian Private Gym inform us that Brewer has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Santos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brewer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brewer throws an elbow that misses. Santos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brewer's guard. Nice move by Santos!

James Brewer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Santos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brewer tries to avoid it but Santos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brewer to the ground. Brewer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

I would just about give that final round to James Brewer.
I've got Brewer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
