Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Terrence Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Mccormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenny Mccormick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terrence Leonard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Mccormick!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Summer Carpenter and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mccormick looking to score a takedown here. Leonard is defending well but Mccormick drives through and ends up in Leonard's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mccormick wanted to stand there but Leonard had control of the position.
Mccormick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Leonard is keeping the position for now.

Leonard has his feet on Mccormick's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Mccormick swings for the body but Leonard moves out of range.

Leonard drives through with a takedown into Mccormick's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Mccormick is adopting a defensive guard.
Leonard really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Mccormick looking for a sweep. Not yet Mccormick, not yet.

and Leonard counters by moving into the clinch.

Leonard jumps guard but Mccormick turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Leonard really is a fat lump.
Mccormick prevents Leonard from breaking the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Leonard takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mccormick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Mccormick with that takedown attempt.
Leonard wants to clinch.

Leonard gets the takedown into side control.

Leonard stands up and beckons Mccormick to his feet.
Mccormick looks winded!

Mccormick misses with a two punch combination.
Leonard tries to clinch but Mccormick moves out of range.
Mccormick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leonard tries to avoid it but Mccormick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leonard to the ground. Leonard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Terrence Leonard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Mccormick.
Leonard is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mccormick doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Leonard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Leonard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mccormick swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mccormick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Leonard tries to clinch but Mccormick is having none of it.
Mccormick looks to throw a body kick

and Leonard counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Stalling in the clinch from Leonard.
Mccormick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Leonard walks away with a smile on his face. Mccormick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kenny Mccormick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Leonard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Leonard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mccormick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mccormick has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Mccormick misses with a head kick.
Mccormick doesn't manage to clinch there - Leonard circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Leonard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leonard decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Leonard wants to clinch.
Leonard has a takedown stuffed.
Leonard moves out of range as Mccormick throws a body kick.
Mccormick fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Leonard.
Mccormick closes the distance and clinches up with Leonard, looking for a takedown. Mccormick pushes Leonard against the cage but Leonard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mccormick is breathing heavily.
Mccormick tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Leonard counters with a three punch combo that has Mccormick backing up. Mccormick nods at Leonard to acknowledge the strikes.

Mccormick fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Leonard, pushing him back against the cage.

Terrence Leonard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Mccormick.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mccormick drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Leonard gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mccormick tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Leonard smiles and moves away.

Leonard tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mccormick gets tackled into the cage by Leonard. Leonard maintains the clinch.
Mccormick changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Leonard fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Mccormick gets caught napping as Leonard dives in and scores a takedown. Mccormick manages to retain guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Terrence Leonard wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Leonard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Leonard scores with a nice hook to the head.

A bit of stalling here from Leonard.

Leonard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mccormick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Leonard pinned against the cage. Leonard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Leonard tries to clinch up but Mccormick circles away and keeps his distance.

Mccormick rushes Leonard and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Leonard jumps guard.
Terrence Leonard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mccormick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terrence Leonard dominated that second round.
That's time! Leonard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Leonard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Leonard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Leonard working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mccormick sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Leonard is thwarting Mccormick's attempts to control the position.

Mccormick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Leonard escapes and gets back to his feet.
Mccormick moves to clinch but Leonard breaks away
and Leonard counters with a left and a right that stings Mccormick.
Leonard wants to clinch but Mccormick slips to the side

and Mccormick moves into the clinch.
Leonard just leaning against Mccormick, taking a breather.

Mccormick is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Leonard can't fight it off and eventually Mccormick manages to take the fight to the floor. Leonard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Leonard manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Leonard stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fight stays on the outside here - Leonard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Leonard rushes Mccormick and presses him up against the cage.
Mccormick tries to land knees in the clinch but Leonard avoids the damage to the body.

Leonard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mccormick shoots in and drives through. Leonard sprawls well.

Leonard forces Mccormick back against the cage and clinches.
Leonard blocks a body shot from Mccormick.
Mccormick letting Leonard take a breather here.
Leonard gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mccormick.
Mccormick is looking to break free of the clinch but Leonard has double underhooks.

Leonard is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mccormick pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Leonard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Mccormick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Leonard walks away with a smile on his face. Mccormick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kenny Mccormick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Terrence Leonard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Leonard stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Well Leonard has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
