7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jicker Larndorf! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Carneiro with that takedown attempt. Carneiro throws a right hand that Larndorf ducks under and follows up with a left that Larndorf also avoids with ease. Carneiro shoots in but no luck this time. Carneiro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Carneiro wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Larndorf, who protects the arm well. Carneiro is looking to take a break and control but Larndorf is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carneiro is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Larndorf's shoulder. That is not cool. Carneiro tries to move to full mount but Larndorf actually manages to regain half guard. Still in half guard, Carneiro seems content to control. Carneiro is trying to control. Larndorf wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Larndorf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carneiro in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Daniel Carneiro wasn't doing enough on the ground. Larndorf scores with a hook to the body. Carneiro takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Carneiro fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Carneiro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Larndorf. No joy for Carneiro on that attempt. Carneiro fails with a takedown attempt. Larndorf misses with a wild body shot. Daniel Carneiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larndorf drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Carneiro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Carneiro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Larndorf tries to avoid it but Carneiro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Larndorf to the ground. Larndorf escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Carneiro misses with a double jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carneiro tries for a takedown but Larndorf sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Larndorf misses with an uppercut
and Carneiro counters by moving into the clinch. Carneiro drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Larndorf gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Larndorf throws a head punch that misses. Larndorf working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Larndorf presses Carneiro against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Larndorf tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Larndorf lands with a short shot to the head.
It looks like Daniel Carneiro has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Still in the clinch, Larndorf scores with a nice short uppercut. Larndorf lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Carneiro will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Daniel Carneiro's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Larndorf throws a looping overhand right but Carneiro ducks down to avoid it. Carneiro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Carneiro is trying hard to land a takedown here. Larndorf sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Carneiro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Larndorf counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Larndorf. Larndorf stops a takedown attempt from Carneiro.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Carneiro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Larndorf lands with a short head shot on the inside. Carneiro blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Larndorf gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carneiro.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short uppercut from Larndorf. Larndorf lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carneiro backwards. Larndorf lands an uppercut. Larndorf pushes Carneiro against the cage. Larndorf is working some dirty boxing. Larndorf pushes off with a quick right hook! Carneiro goes down! Carneiro tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Larndorf moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jicker Larndorf! Jicker Larndorf is the new heavyweight champion! Jicker Larndorf decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
