Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brad Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brad Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, The Can!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Shaw tries to move into range but Can moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
No luck for Shaw with that takedown attempt.
The Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaw throws a big shot that misses.
Can connects with a body shot.
Can cracks Shaw with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Shaw throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice cross by Can.
We've been hearing reports that Shaw has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Can lunges at Shaw with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shaw's hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Can moves into range and connects with a jab.

Can lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Shaw at a distance.
Can has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shaw. Can does a little dance to reset his feet.

Can ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Shaw walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Can misses with a wild body shot.

Can takes the fight into the clinch.
Can is pushing Shaw up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Shaw is trying to drag Can to the mat but Can just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Can creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Can presses Shaw against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Can has Shaw pressed against the cage, preventing Shaw from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Shaw is breathing heavily.

Shaw drops down looking for an ankle pick but Can pulls his leg out and moves away.

A jab lands there for Can.

Can lands a big uppercut and Shaw crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Shaw looks OK. Can waves Shaw back to his feet!


Shaw is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Can lands a jab to Shaw's midsection.
Oh Shaw is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Can is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Shaw had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shaw looks to throw the jab but Can is out of range.
The Can is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice defenses there by Can.
Shaw seems to have got his legs back now.
Can connects with a jab.
Shaw takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Can jabs Shaw to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Nice uppercut lands for Can. That snapped Shaw's head back.

Can sends Shaw crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Can is motioning to the referee to let Shaw up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


It looks like Brad Shaw has been cut.
Can steps in with a hook that catches Shaw right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Can follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Shaw looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Can!
A relieved looking The Can thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
